MSU Singers and Chorale

MSU's Chorale and Singers will be hosting a show titled, In a Dark Time, on Saturday, April 25 at 8 p.m. in the Kasser Theater.

Coming to the Kasser Theater stage on Saturday, April 25 at 8 p.m. is sure to be another amazing performance by the Montclair State University Singers and Chorale, conducted by Heather J. Buchanan, performing In a Dark Time.

According to the Peak Performances website, “Heart-rending, soulful choral music that explores the emotional spectrum: anguish, fear, hope and equanimity. MSU Singers repertoire will include Donald McCullough’s The Eye Begins to See, a two-movement setting of Theodore Roethke’s poem In a Dark Time scored for mixed chorus, piano and cello. MSU Chorale will perform the chamber accompaniment version of Annelies by James Whitbourn, the first major choral setting of Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl. Featuring guest artists Adriana Zabala (mezzo-soprano), KeriAnn DiBari (B-flat clarinet), Elena Chernova-Davis (violin), Katherine Cherbas (violoncello) and Steven W. Ryan (piano).”

Holocaust survivor Ruth Ravina will also give a pre-concert presentation in the Leshowitz Recital Hall from 7 to 7:30 p.m.

Food options are available on campus as well at the Red Hawk Diner that is open all night. It is located on the far side of the campus. Another option for light refreshments after the show is Cafe Diem, which now serves food from Au Bon Pain. It is located close to the Kasser Theater. Please feel free to check out of these food services.

Tickets for the show are available at the box office located in the Alexander Kasser Theater or online at the Peak Performances website, peakperfs.org. Montclair undergraduate students are permitted one free ticket with their student ID. All tickets are $15. The Kasser Theater is located towards the front of campus next to the Red Hawk Parking Deck.  Parking is available in the Red Hawk Deck as well as the Transit Parking Deck across campus. Public transportation that runs directly in front of the Kasser Theater is also available. If you are traveling in from the city, Peak Performances is now offering a Peak Bus. Peak Performances runs a charter bus service to and from Manhattan for all Saturday and Sunday performances, and tickets can be purchased along with your show tickets.
