Music festival season has officially begun! Two weeks ago, the famous SXSW festival took place in Austin, Texas, but unfortunately, most of us couldn’t attend because of our important day-to-day activities. Not to worry, there are plenty more events taking place this season including: Coachella, Governor’s Ball, Bonnaroo and Lollapolooza. Many of these festivals go on for several days and some even involve camping out on the event grounds! That means dirt, excessive heat and a whole lot of craziness. To help you prepare for the thrilling festivities, here is a list of what to wear to each event:

Coachella

This year the first weekend of Coachella will take place on April 10-12. The second weekend is April 17 – 19, both in Indio, Calif. Popular names in the lineup include: AC/DC, Jack White and Drake. This festival is best known for being a celebrity stomping ground. You can count on Vanessa Ann Hudgens, Kendall Jenner and Selena Gomez to attend. If bohemian style is your thing, consider Coachella to be home. Shorts and a crop top are super popular at this event, but to really stand out celebs sport floral dresses and combine all sorts of patterns and pieces. Accessories are a must; create your own or purchase a flower crown and strap on some gladiator sandals and you’re good to go. Don’t forget a stylish tribal backpack to complete your look.

Governor’s Ball

Following Coachella is the Governor’s Ball taking place in Randall’s Island Park in New York City on June 5 – 7. Some popular acts include: Florence + The Machine, Drake and Lana Del Rey. Luckily, by June, NYC will have finally warmed up! A halter-top, mirrored sunglasses and a pair of distressed denim shorts are ideal for the Governor’s Ball. Sneakers are your best bet for this music festival – you will be on your feet all day. Plus, it takes place on a lot of grass, which could be full of mud from rain.

Bonnaroo

Bonnaroo is up next, taking place in Manchester, Tenn. from June 11 – 14. The lineup includes acts such as: Mumford and Sons, Kendrick Lamar and Billy Joel. This music festival is more than just music – it’s a four-day camping experience. While it may seem like the perfect opportunity to release your inner tree-hugger, it can also be a whole lot of mess. Make sure you pack clothes that will hold up throughout the crazy day, rather than light dresses. It will be hot so less is more; be bold in a denim romper or support the bands in as graphic tee. Again, sneakers are the most logical. Wild sunglasses or a fringe bag will take this look to the next level.

Lollapolooza

Lollapolooza takes place from July 31 – Aug. 2 in Grant Park in Chicago, Ill. The lineup at this festival is unbelievable; Paul McCartney is headlining the performances with other major artists to follow, such as Metallica and Sam Smith. Chicago has perfectly breezy temperatures in the summer, so this is the time to break out that maxi dress. A big sun hat, sandals and a mini bag will sweeten this look.
