One Savvy Design isn’t your average cosignment shop!
The big orange house on Church Street opened their doors almost three years ago, bringing a new meaning to the familiar phrase, “When you look good, you feel good.” Arlene Carrini, owner and manager of One Savvy Design Consignment Boutique, describes her boutique as “not your average consignment shop.” It’s a chic and charming store in the heart of Montclair.
Inside you will find clothes, shoes, handbags and accessories from top designers ranging from JCrew, Kate Spade, Louis Vuitton, Zac Posen and many others. You can also find one-of-a-kind custom painted furniture pieces. Although the furniture is not on consignment, there is no other place to find one-of-a-kind items. Not only can customers have any piece painted to the color of their choosing, they will even paint furniture from your own home.
“We like to go green wherever we can, which is why we use no VOC chalk paint on all of our pieces,” said Carrini.
Carrini and her staff review every new item before it is put on the shelves; all items must be new or in like-new conditions.
Carrini has a background in merchandise, buying and retail. Before One Savvy Design opened up she was refinishing furniture out of her backyard and consigning her own clothes. She decided it was time to merge her two loves together, and so came One Savvy Design!
As soon as I walked up the steps to the eye popping orange house, I immediately felt a sense of charm. Inside feels high-end and expensive, but when you reach for a price tag, your wallet is instantly satisfied. All of the merchandise is elegant and sophisticated, but the atmosphere is warm and friendly; it is impossible to feel like you don’t belong.
Currently, customers can enjoy their end of season sale, where most of the merchandise is up to 65 percent off. Every day, customers can partake in their rewards program; they will gain a point for every dollar spent. At 250 points the customer will receive 10 percent off, 500 points is 15 percent off and 1,000 points is 25 percent off.
One Savvy Design is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays noon to 5 p.m.; they are closed on Mondays.
