Peak Performances Kicks off Season

Peak Performances on the campus of Montclair State University will host the first show by the Department of Theater and Dance.

Peak Performances at Kasser Theater and Memorial Auditorium on the campus of Montclair State University is gearing up for their first performance by the Department of Theater and DanceHearts of Men will be performed on Sept. 6 at 7:30 p.m. and Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. held in the Memorial Auditorium, located directly across from Cafe Diem and the library.

According to the Kasser Theater website, Peak Performances at peakperfs.org, “Hearts of Men is the culmination of a two-week intergenerational dance intensive for men ages 14 to 80 directed by Fredrick Earl Mosley on the MSU campus. Dances of community and inspiration are the fruits of this collaboration between men, young and not so young. Octogenarian Dudley Williams, a legendary principal dancer with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, will be a featured guest artist.”

This performances marks the first by the Department of Theater and Dance in the College of the Arts on the campus of Montclair State. Hearts of Men is a highly dance-intensive show, marking the first performance in addition to the upcoming plays, musicals and other dance shows. Hearts of Men is sure to be the start of a promising Peak Performances season.

For light foods and coffee, Cafe Diem is located directly across from the theater and connected to the library. For a full menu available 24/7, the Red Hawk Diner is located on the far end of campus.

Tickets are available at the box office located in the Alexander Kasser Theater or online at the Peak Performances website, peakperfs.org. The Kasser Theater is located towards the front of campus next to the Red Hawk Parking Deck. Montclair undergraduate students are permitted one free ticket with their student ID. All tickets are $15. Parking is available in the Red Hawk Deck as well as the Transit Parking Deck across campus. Public transportation that runs directly in front of the Kasser Theater is also available.
