In mid-October, the Symptoms are coming to Kasser Theater on the campus of Montclair State University to perform their show Apropos.

The Artistic Director of the show is Réka Szabó, created and performed by Emese Cuhorka, István Gőz, Réka Szabó and Dániel Szász, Lighting Design by Attila Szirtes, Production Design by Gábor Papp, Gábor Karcis, Bence Földesi and Zsolt Korai as well as Costume Design by Edit Szűcs.

According to the Peak Performances website, “With trademark playfulness and wit, the Symptoms, Hungary’s premiere contemporary dance/theater company, ponders the critical questions of aging.  When will I lose my virginity?  Will I find work I love?  How do I balance work with parenthood? Do I have enough money to retire?  How long will I keep my looks?  Will I ever have sex again? The Symptoms’ clear-eyed, kind-hearted response to our human vulnerabilities is poignant, funny and brave.  Don’t miss the American debut of this highly original troupe.”

The show lasts for 90 minutes with one intermission.

The Symptoms will be performing on Oct. 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. and Oct. 19 at 3 p.m. Tickets are available online at peakperfs.org or at the Kasser Theater box office for $20. Undergraduate students at Montclair State also receive one free ticket to the show with a valid student I.D.

Refreshments are available at the concession stand before the performance but no food or drink is permitted inside the theater at any time. For light foods and coffee, Cafe Diem is located in close proximity to the theater and connected to the library. For a full menu available 24/7, the Red Hawk Diner is located on the far end of campus.

Parking is available in the Red Hawk Deck as well as the Transit Parking Deck across campus. Public transportation that runs directly in front of the Kasser Theater is also available. If you are traveling in from the city, Peak Performances is now offering a Peak Bus. Peak Performances runs a charter bus service to and from Manhattan for all Saturday and Sunday performances, and tickets can be purchased along with your show tickets.
