Soar with the new musical, Take Flight.
Set in the early years of aviation, Take Flight is a musical that blends fact and fiction and creates a story that intertwines the lives of the Wright Brothers, Amelia Earhart and Charles Lindbergh.
Take Flight is a production from the Department of Theater and Dance of Montclair State University. The book is by John Weidman, with music from David Shire and lyrics from Richard Maltby, Jr. The show is directed by Mark Hardy.
Take Flight’s performances are set to take place on Oct. 17,18, 23 and 25 at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 19 at 8 p.m. and Oct. 20 and 27 at 2 p.m. in the Memorial Auditorium. Memorial Auditorium is located towards the center of the Montclair State campus, attached to Life Hall and across from Cafe Diem.
Tickets are available online at the Peak Performances site or at the Alexander Kasser Theater Box Office for $15. The box office operates from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to curtain on days of the performance. As always, for MSU undergraduate students, one ticket is available upon request. Please remember that a valid student ID must be presented at the box office when picking up the tickets.
Parking is located in the Red Hawk Parking Deck at an hourly rate which can be paid by cash or card. Metered parking is also available in lot 27 at 75 cents per half hour at a maximum of three hours. These meters are cash only.
For those looking to dine before or after the show, the Red Hawk Diner serves classic diner dishes and is open for 24 hours. For those looking for something quicker, then Café Diem is your best bet with Starbucks coffee, wraps, sandwiches and more.
Take Flight has all the right tools to give its audience a memorable night full of musical theater, dining and excitement.
