Taste of Montclair Gives Back

The Rotary Club of Montclair is hosting Taste of Montclair to give back to the community, kick of restaurant week and say thank you to local businesses.

taste of montclairComing to Montclair on March 9 is the fourth annual “Taste of Montclair,” hosted by the Rotary Club of Montclair and Verona. The event continues to expand each year, and uses all proceeds to donate to local charities, including Toni’s Kitchen.

According to the event page, “With more than 30 of the most talked about and celebrated restaurants and food crafters around, Taste of Montclair is the community’s largest food-centric charity event. One-hundred percent of ticket sales go to the charities supported by the Rotary Club of Montclair including Toni’s Kitchen, the Human Needs Food Pantry and the feeding programs of the Salvation Army.”

Additionally, Taste of Montclair kicks off Montclair Restaurant Week, which will run this year from March 9 through 15 and is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Montclair. According to the event page, this is the Rotary Club’s “thank you” to the restaurants that support the Rotary and their charitable efforts.

Some of the restaurants participating in Taste of Montclair include: Ah Pizz, Beyond Pita, CARS Delivery, Greek Taverna, Mac Attack, Montclair Bread Company, Pig and Prince, Red Eye Café, Tassot Apiaries, Toast Montclair and Yogic Chai. According to the event page, Rotary International is an “international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. It is a secular organization open to all persons regardless of race, color, creed, religion, gender, or political preference. There are 34,282 clubs and over 1.2 million members worldwide.” The Rotary Club of Montclair is a chapter of Rotary International and was founded in 1922′ members meet Tuesdays at 12:15 p.m. at the Greek Taverna.

Tickets can be purchased online at eventbrite.com, and spaces are filling up fast! Tickets are available for $60, or $75 with a $15 donation. If you cannot attend the event but still want to give back to the Rotary Club, donations can be made on the same site.
