The Pie Store, located at 100 Watchung Ave. in Upper Montclair, has been serving the best pies, treats and other British delicacies in Montclair for residents to enjoy. The store, inspired by the British, not only has actual groceries imported from the United Kingdom, but is decorated with a bright red door and an assembly line of little British flags hanging from the roof and flowers for a warm welcome. The Pie Store offers food of all kinds whether sweet, savory or both.
“I love The Pie Store because there is nothing else like it around, and I’m not just talking the Montclair community,” said Mark McHenry. “My wife and I drive a half hour whenever we are craving some pies from here. They sure know how to hit the spot.”
On The Pie Store menu, food ranges from savory meat pies to sweet desserts that are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. If you’re craving something savory, The Pie Store has an assortment of – I bet you can guess it – pies! But not just regular sweet pies like blueberry crumb or apple pie.
At The Pie Store, they pride themselves on creating delicious and savory pies to make any hungry belly full. Some of the pies that they offer are: cheese, potato and onion pie; Shepherd’s pie; chicken and mushroom pie; steak, ale and mushroom pie; turkey and stuffing pie; chicken tikka pie and more. They also offer steak and kidney pie and bangers and mash pie seasonally. Other than just pies, The Pie Store also offers pocket pasties, cornish pasty, sweet potato, blue cheese and onion pasty, sausage rolls, extra sharp cheddar scones and more.
