The Upper Montclair Business Association (UMBA) is pleased to announce its third annual Uptown Girls Ladies Night Event, in Upper Montclair. With over 60 businesses participating, this event draws hundreds of women to the district to shop and socialize. The event promotes the diverse businesses that are located along Valley Road, Bellevue Avenue and the Upper Montclair Plaza. The variety of shops, restaurants, boutiques,  fitness studios, and services all provide something for everyone.  To truly highlight the event, there is a community raffle basket that’s created from the donated products, gift certificates and items featured from each participating business.

“As a business owner in the Upper Montclair business district, I was inspired to create Uptown Girls by seeing and participating similar events in other main street towns and shopping districts.  As an attendee its fun to try something new and a great excuse to discover what we have to offer in this area,” said Jennifer O’Sullivan, Owner of Olive That & More. O’Sullivan will continue participating by sampling their olive oils, balsamic vinegars and sharing recipes.

This year UMBA is partnering with the Montclair Art Museum during Matisse Week and the two organizations will be bringing some special giveaways to the Uptown Girls Event. One can also expect selfie stations, henna tattoos, music, to ensure that that the ladies will have a unparalleled experience. Additionally, it is a wonderful opportunity for the new businesses in the area to introduce themselves, several schedule their grand openings with this date in mind.

This great community event enables ladies to mix & mingle among themselves as they are free to maximize this evening by trying to visit as many places as possible or simply pick one or two of their favorite spots to frequent.  It is a self-paced event, as one can pack in as much or little as one wants.

Festivities start at 6 P.M. on Thurs. May 18. Participating businesses are in a two-block radius, from the Bellevue and Valley Road intersection and include Upper Montclair Plaza. The shops close at 9 P.M. Upstairs Restaurant at 608 Valley Road will continue festivities after the shops close with a signature Uptown Girls cocktail and food special.
