Montclair hosts the annual Veteran’s Day of Service.
The Township of Montclair’s annual Veterans’ Day of Service will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Edgemont Memorial Park, according to a statement by the town. The public is invited to join township officials, veterans organizations and other civic groups in paying homage to the veterans of all of the wars of the United States.
The park is surrounded by roads on three sides and is also located close to the Edgemont Elementary School. In one side of the park there is a pond with fountains, with water streaming into the pond from Toney’s Brook. The pond is artificial, created by a dam, and a children’s playground is also located in the park.

According to the Montclair town website, the Montclair Recreation and Cultural Affairs “offers year-round recreational, athletic and cultural programs for all ages and abilities.” Additionally, the Montclair Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department strives to serve the well-being of all residents of Montclair. They do this “through programs that encourage healthful and active lifestyles, provide opportunities for learning and enrichment and help foster a sense of community.” The department also tries to offer a a vast amount of activities “to continue building recreational opportunities, while enhancing the quality of life for Montclair residents.”
The director of the Montclair Recreation and Cultural Affairs is Pat Brechka. The office is located on Claremont Avenue, and is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Residents of Montclair are encouraged to come out and support the Veteran’s Day of Service in our area with this annual commemoration which is sure to be a beautiful event at Edgemont Park.
