Volbeat are bringing metal music to town.
Volbeat is made up of members Michael Poulsen as lead vocalist, Jon Larsen on drums, Rob Caggiano on lead guitar and Anders Kjølholm on bass. The band originated in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2001 after Poulsen left his death-metal group, Dominus.
Together the band has released five studio albums on Danish record label Mascot Records, including “The Strength/The Sound/The Songs,” which was released five years after the band was formed. “Rock the Rebel/Metal the Devil” was released two years later in 2007. Their newest album, “Outlaw Gentlemen and Shady Ladies” came out earlier this month on April 9. Every one of Volbeat’s albums has achieved gold status, selling over 500,000 copies.
Volbeat’s most well-known tracks include “Still Counting,” “Heaven Nor Hell,” “A Warrior’s Call” and “The Hangman’s Body Count.” The Volbeat: Live 2013 tour is sure to include these hits, as well as brand new songs off of their newest album. The band is also sure to whip out a few fan favorites for their most dedicated fans.
The tour stops in Montclair on May 2. Tickets are available on the Wellmont site. Advanced tickets are $33 and $38 the day of the show. Eye Empire is a musical group that has built their fan base and musical careers around the mantra “Love, Respect, Support.” The guys in this group have a sound that transcends past what is on the radio or any other artist. This is due to their undeniable chemistry and spectacular drive to succeed. The members of the band are Ryan Bennett, Corey Lowery, Donald Carpenter and BC Kochmit. Together they have released their album “IMPACT” which included 19 studio recorded tracks, two live cuts and three acoustic performances. The album released June 2012.
All That Remains is a band that constantly keeps listeners on their toes. With no set genre to categorize their music, Philip Labonte, Oli Herbert, Mike Martin, Jeanne Sagan and Jason Costa have been giving the music scene something to look forward to every time they release an album. The quintet has been performing together since 1998 always staying true to their music as well as true to themselves. Their most recent record, “A War You Cannot Win,” was released November 2012.
With three very unique and talented groups lined up for the performance, it is sure to be an outstanding night of unforgettable music at the Wellmont Theater. Parking will be available on the local streets, as well as the parking lot located by the Wellmont. Concert-goers are advised to get to the theater early to get in line. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the concert starting an hour after.
