Works-a-Foot at Kasser Theater shows dancers’ talent.
Coming to the stage in Kasser Theater is Works-a-Foot 2014. This annual show highlighting the talent of the amazing dancers who take the stage with Peak Performances each year.
According to the Peak Performances website, “[Works-a-Foot is] a must-see event featuring dance works by guest artists and MSU dance faculty, including Larry Keigwin’s Megalopolis, ‘a divinely well-structured encounter between formalism and club culture…’ (New York Times); Continuo, a continuous, fluid, balletic expression by Anthony Tudor set to Pachelbel’s universally popular Canon in D; and choreography by Montclair State University faculty Earl Mosley, Christian Von Howard, Joao Carvalho and Jessica DiMauro.”
Works-a-Foot will be performed on Nov. 19-21 at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 22 at 8 p.m. with a final showing on Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available online at peakperfs.org or at the Kasser Theater box office for $15. Undergraduate students at Montclair State University also receive one free ticket to the show with a valid student I.D.
Parking is available in the Red Hawk Deck as well as the Transit Parking Deck across campus. Public transportation that runs directly in front of the Kasser Theater is also available. If you are traveling in from the city, Peak Performances is now offering a Peak Bus. Peak Performances runs a charter bus service to and from Manhattan for all Saturday and Sunday performances, and tickets can be purchased along with your show tickets.
Refreshments are available at the concession stand before the performance but no food or drink is permitted inside the theater at any time. For something heavier to eat before or after the show, check out the many restaurants that Montclair has to offer within a short distance of campus, in addition to the 24-hour diner right on the Montclair State campus. Take a stroll down Valley Road or Bloomfield Avenue for restaurants that are sure to satiate your appetite, such as Nauna’s Bella Casa with their savory Italian dishes.
Works-a-Foot 2014 is sure to show the community the talent that these hard-working dancers have to offer.
