Coming to the Wellmont Theater on Valentine’s Day – Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015 – is Young the Giant. Take your loved one out for a night that is sure to have them dancing!

Young the Giant is an indie rock band that formed in California in 2004. The band’s current line-up is Sameer Gadhia on lead vocals, Jacob Tilley on guitar, Eric Cannata on guitar, Payam Doostzadeh on bass guitar and Francois Comtois on the drums.

Young the Giant was formerly known as the Jakes, before they were signed by Roadrunner Records in 2009 and released their debut album in 2010. Young the Giant is most well-known for their singles “My Body,” “Cough Syrup” and “Apartment.” These singles also reached the top five of the US Alternative Songs chart.

In October of 2013, Young the Giant released “It’s About Time,” the lead single from their second album, Mind over Matter. The album was released in full in January of 2014 through the record label Fueled by Ramen.

If you’re looking for food before or after the Young the Giant show, be sure to check out the many options that are located right by the Wellmont. One great choice is Ah Pizz, a delicious pizzeria right off of Bloomfield on North Willow Street. Ah Pizz offers amazing choices in pizzas and Italian-style dishes, and is a BYO/BYOB restaurant.

Young the Giant tickets start at $25 and are available online at livenation.com or at the Wellmont Theater box office. The Wellmont Theater is located right off of Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair. Parking is available across from the venue, but is limited. Concert-goers are encouraged to arrive early for a spot, but additional parking is also available on the side streets and along Bloomfield Avenue. The show starts at 8 p.m. but doors open at 7 p.m., so be sure to get there early!
