Start the year right with the Michael Caine screenings at MPL.
Although it may be a new year, some things are better unchanged. The Montclair Public Library will continue their Every Wednesday Matinee beginning Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. For those of who aren’t familiar with their weekly program, the library will feature classic films presented in their auditorium.
“A regular attendee of the screenings suggested we do a Michael Caine month. I love when people give suggestions. It makes my job easier,” said Chelsea Dodd, information specialist.
Below are the Michael Caine titles being screened this January:
- The Italian Job (Jan. 4) – Starring Michael Caine, Noël Coward and Benny Hill. Comic caper movie about a plan to steal a gold shipment from the streets of Turin by creating a traffic jam. (1969, 99 minutes, color)
- There will be no film shown on Jan. 11.
- The Last Valley (Jan. 18) – Starring Michael Caine, Omar Sharif and Florinda Bolkan. People in a small German village in the last valley to remain untouched by the devastating Thirty Years’ War try to exist in peace with a group of soldiers occupying the valley. (1971, 120 minutes, color)
- Billion Dollar Brain (Jan. 25) – Starring Michael Caine, Karl Malden and Ed Begley. A former British spy stumbles into in a plot to overthrow Communism with the help of a supercomputer. But who is working for whom? (1967, 111 minutes, color)
