Black Out Game to support MHS Mounties.
The MHS Mounties Black Out Football Game is this year’s theme to generate excitement for the team’s run at a fourth straight state championship. The team will also be wearing black jerseys for the first time on Sept. 12 against Pascack Valley, and the community will be supporting them by wearing black shirts as well. The official Black Out Shirt will give free admission to all regular season home games.
Businesses are also showing their Mountie pride: The Office Restaurant is offering 15 percent off to all that wear or bring in their shirts all season. Fleet Feet, Heratij and All Lacrosse are selling shirts to support the team and offering 10 percent off any other purchase when you buy your Black Out T-shirt.
The Mounties suffered their first loss at home since 2010 to Neshimany High School on Saturday, Sept. 5. It was a fight to the end but the Mounties came up short 37-31. This Saturday’s Black Out Game against Pascack Valley is set to be a capacity crowd as they have a loyal traveling fan base. Pascack Valley was the Mounties only loss last season and Pascack Valley went on to win their Group Championship last year. Pascack Valley is currently ranked #6 in Big North Conference Top 10 after beating Hackensack 34-29 on opening week, according to NJ.com.
This will be a clash of powerhouse programs that will set the tone for both teams 2015 season. As the Mounties seek revenge from their loss last year to Pascack Valley, they are also looking to avoid a 0-2 start to the season and at home at Woodman Field. This Saturday is set to be an epic game that should not be missed. Montclair High School is urging all to come out and support the three-time State Champs and show them that a fourth State Championship is possible.
