Gelotti Ice Cream is a well known store that has been servicing northern New Jersey with delicious treats since 1984. The first Gelotti store was opened in historic Paterson, N.J., where the homemade and hand-crafted ice cream, gelato and Italian ice phenomenon began. Fifteen years later in 2001, the Sigona family opened the second Gelotti location on Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell, N.J.
Nearly 15 years since the opening of Gelotti of Caldwell, the family-owned business has decided to expand and Gelotti of Montclair will have it’s grand opening coming soon! “We’re opening in Montclair because Montclair is a huge ‘foodie’ town and there are very elaborate restaurants there,” said Assistant-Manager of Gelotti of Caldwell, Pat Mallon. “We want to expand and try to bring in that type of clientele, and that’s why we are going to be offering, aside from ice cream, other dessert treats as well as espresso and coffee. This is to create more of a sit down and hang out atmosphere rather than just a come in and get an ice cream cone atmosphere.” The business is continuing its traditions for a new generation of fans that will get to experience the deliciousness of what they have to offer.
Famous for their smorgasbord of flavors that are guaranteed to make your mouth water, Gelotti Ice Cream offers more than just their sweet desserts. The business participates in fundraisers and community events to help raise money for foundations that serve good causes. The Gelotti of Caldwell recently participated in the Paterson Recovery Walk, the “Support Soccer” event that took place at the James Caldwell High School, as well as supporting the Gloria Foundation Gala and partnering with the Caldwell Police to promote bike helmet usage. Gelotti of Caldwell will also be present at the upcoming Street Fair presented by the Caldwell Kiwanis & Rotary Clubs on Oct. 4.
