A new resident has come to 75 Midland Ave. in Montclair this year. Johnston Law Firm now provides the Montclair community with exceptional legal representation at an affordable cost. Attorney Thomas O. Johnston previously worked as a member of the Commercial Practice Group at Porzio, Bromberg & Newman in Morristown, N.J. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School, he is currently a member of the New York and the New Jersey bars.

“We are thrilled to create a smaller specialized practice, which offers the same first-rate legal services available at larger firms but with much more value conferred on clients,” said Johnston.

Johnston Law Firm consists of Johnston, associate attorney Laura O. Wallace and Of Counsel Jignesh Shah. Each professional comes into Johnston Law Firm with a unique experience and strong background in law – making Johnston Law Firm the perfect place to go for any legal needs. And now, with the opening of the Montclair office, the firm can get closer to clients that need their help.

Johnston in particular has worked with schools from the start of the public school choice movement. Wallace’s focuses primarily on litigation in state and federal courts for start-up  businesses. Shah practices mainly with employment law and and business litigation. Overall, Johnston Law Firm practices in many areas, such as education law, employment and labor and business disputes and counseling. They currently counsel over 20 charter and renaissance schools. Additionally, Johnston Law Firm handles discrimination, harassment and employment policies in the workplace.

Some of Johnston’s publications include Whistleblower or Opportunist and Supreme Courts Deliver a Mixed Bag for Employees. Johnston has spoken at the New Jersey Charter Schools Conference, the Porzio Employment Law Forum and the New York County Lawyers Association. Now, he takes on a new challenge with Johnston Law Firm.

“At Johnston Law Firm, we have built a culture that is extremely client-focused. From business planning to employment matters, to schools and corporations, we have the experience necessary to provide excellent counsel and results,” said Johnston.
