Outpost in the Burbs welcomes Roger McGuinn.
Coming to the Mount Hebron Middle School on Saturday, April 25 is Roger McGuinn with Outpost in the Burbs. Mount Hebron Middle School is located at 173 Bellevue Avenue in Montclair.
Roger McGuinn is best known for being the lead singer and lead guitarist on many of The Byrds’ records. He is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his work with the Byrds. He was also part of Rock Bottom Remainders, a group of published writers doubling as musicians to raise proceeds for literacy charities.
According to the Outpost website, “as the frontman of the Byrds, Roger McGuinn and his trademark 12-string Rickenbacker guitar pioneered folk-rock and, by extension, country-rock, influencing everyone from contemporaries like the Beatles to acolytes like Tom Petty and R.E.M. in the process.”
The Outpost benefit concert tickets for the Roger McGuinn show are $30 and all tickets can be purchased in person at Keil’s Pharmacy, Terra Tea and Studio042. They can also be purchased online at ticketleap.com. The show is from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., so be sure to get there with plenty of time for parking.
For those who are looking to grab a bite to eat before the show, there is a variety of eateries all over Bloomfield Avenue, such as HLS (Health, Love and Soul), Escape, and Le Petit Parisien. There are also some eateries near the Lackawanna Plaza, such as Pig and Prince, and an American-fare restaurant/bar called Just Jake’s on Park Street and Bloomfield Avenue.
