Donations to MFEE Matter

It doesn’t matter how much you donate because every dollar counts to MFEE!

Since 1991, Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence (MFEE) has brought the community within Montclair together through its fundraising and support for high-quality education. Montclair residents can be continually assured that there are no limits on their children’s academic goals due to the consistent support provided by the fundraising and assistance that MFEE provides to our public schools.

Last year, to celebrate its 25th anniversary, MFEE held a magnificent fundraising event in the form of an Amazing Race style race around Montclair. The teams were pairs of Montclair residents, and it was a perfect mixture of fun and competition. The competition took the pairs all over Montclair and involved collaboration, puzzlesolving skills, and silk worm larvae.

After the race, the competitors, friends, family, and all those who wanted to be in involved gathered at Egan and Sons, who graciously held a barbecuestyle after party. Masiel Rodriguez-Vars, Executive Director, announced that they had received over $85,000 in donations. This was a big accomplishment for the community and greatly boosted the help that MFEE was able to give Montclair’s public schools.

After the success of this race, MFEE is holding the MFEE Amazing Fundracer: The Sequel on May 21, 2017. While the race is sure to be even more fun this year, the main goal of the event is to strengthen broad support for our schools while raising critical funds to enhance them. Already, over 30 people have donated for a sum of over $1000, which shows the eagerness we have in Montclair to support our schools. Additionally, for every $125 over $500 that a team raises, they receive a “LegUp” in the race – a boost or small assistance along the way. This is a great way to sponsor a team and help them win!

MFEE has served our community as a generous non-profit for over 25 years. The organization has put an extraordinary amount of effort into funding the resources needed for the children of Montclair to thrive and grow. The MFEE Amazing Fundracer is an enjoyable and inclusive way to have a great day out and support our community!
