As the Montclair Film Festival will be screening a wide range of genres in their 2017 festival, be sure to take a look at their phenomenal African American programming. Their centerpiece film, Tell Them We Are Rising, is the story of historically black colleges in America.

“Since its inception, Montclair Film has always had a commitment to having our program represent the diversity of our community. Down the years we have featured a wide range of films, events, and talent that celebrate African American contributions to the art of film. This year, we decided that, in addition to our traditional programming, we’d like to find a way to celebrate young, up and coming talent as well, and so we launched our Emerging Black Voices program to highlight the work of new creatives in film and, through a partnership with the American Black Film Festival, offer new opportunities for these talented filmmakers and producers to showcase their work,” said Executive Director, Tom Hall.
