The Michael Aymar Foundation will be hosting a special event, Stories, Memories, and Laughter in the Gardens, on Sun. Apr. 30, 2017. The event serves as not only a fundraiser to support their NASHDO scholarship, but to also inform the supporters of what has been accomplished in the first year for the foundation.

Two authors that knew Michael Aymar well will be attending to discuss the power of storytelling and how they utilized it in their own writing. The first is Tim McLouglin, who met him while at NYU. McLouglin’s debut novel, “Heart of the Old Country” is the basis for the motion picture, The Narrows. The second is Dr. Fernando Espinoza, who writes about physics and whose first book Michael Aymar edited. It will also be featuring entertainment from the Vitral Sax Quartet. Paquito D’Rivera has produced their recent CD, “Kites Over Havana.”

“The journal ads are a wonderful way for supporters and loved ones to share their feelings about Michael and our accomplishments. The ads have proved to be a wonderful tool to help us raise money in an effort to continue the NASHDO scholarship,” said Mia Aymar-Smith.

For those interested in advertising within the MAF event, kindly send all PDFs or JEPGs to mentioned email. There will be journal ads available – (journal size-  5 1/2 x 8 1/2 in.-  printed in black and white), as a full page for $100; ½ page for $50; ¼ page for $25.

“Having had Mr. Aymar as both a father and a teacher, I connect in multiple ways with the lessons he taught. We want to use the foundation as a vehicle to follow his steps, passion and respect for the language as a valuable communication tool through life.  We are reaching out and building the foundation of volunteers, teachers, and ex-students who share our values and are willing to pay forward what they learned from my father,” stated Peter Aymar.

The beautiful library that Michael Aymar adored, Van Vleck House and Gardens, is located on 21 Van Vleck Street, Montclair, NJ. The event will start at 4 P.M. till 7 P.M. and tickets are $75 per person, serving heavy tapas and wine bar. Don’t miss an opportunity to spend a perfect  Spring afternoon in one of the most beautiful homes in Montclair, celebrating a life that ignited the love of learning in so many students.
